Olivia's guide to a royal lifestyle

Since the royal weddings in Monaco and Great Britain it seems that everybody is watching the royalties. And this is no different for Olivia! She dresses and lives like a real modern-day princess. Maybe she's copying them, or maybe she's simply one of them (minus the title of 'princess')?! Either way, take a look at Olivia's guide to a royal lifestyle:
1. Dress like a royalty:

Wear your clothes like a true lady, breathe elegance and timelessness.
You have to BE a fashion icon, not follow one. (Oops!
-> this rule is only for Olivia, not for us! ;-) )
Dress to impress!

No mather what the occasion is, you always have to look like a lady. Wear dresses ALL the time, preferably in colours that give subtle reference to your importantness, such as 'royal' blue. (first picture: princess Victoria of Sweden)
To go to more formal events, you need an elegant black cocktail dress. For a luxurious feel opt for delicate fabrics like lace. Olivia's gorgeous example is by Valentino.A floor-length silver gown is a necessity to simply 'shine' at a ball. Here a couple of examples worn by princess Beatrice, Kate Middleton, and our Olivia.

2. Get yourself noticed at events!
Last month Wimbledon was thé place to make an appearance! Several royal faces were spotted on Centre Court: Kate Middleton, her sister Pippa and.. Olivia.

3. Make 'humble' yacht vacation!
Concur the seas in a luxurious yacht, accompanied by your entourage. (first and second picture: princess Charlotte Casiraghi of monaco and her family on their yacht)

Now, i think Olivia forgot 3 (very important) things to become a real princess:

4. Wear extravagant hats that set you apart from the rest.

(pictures: princess Eugenie of York, and Charlène Wittstock of Monaco)

5. Hold a royal wedding.
Find your prince charming (-> well done Olivia!), marry him in a fairytale wedding with the perfect wedding dress and a horse-drawn carriage, and let milions of people watch all of this on (inter)national television! (-> Good luck Olivia!)
6. Learn to WAVE!!

masculine / feminine?

Olivia looks confident in a black suit, white shirt and loosely knotted tie. She has no secrets for us, holding a transparant clutch by Charlotte Olympia. The whole look is glammed up with a pair of super glamorousleopard pumps, also by Charlotte Olympia. Somebody is sponsored? :)

Another way to rock the masculine trend is by pulling your hair back and wearing an all black tuxedo. But she gives the outfit a feminine touch with a lace top and by showing some ankle thanks to her cropped trousers. This time she wears two necklaces, one is by Lulu Frost.
Olivia show that when you want to look polished, it's all about the details: purple satin pumps and a boyfriend with matching purple tie.

Stylish Seasonal Transition

Olivia transitions from winter to summer with khaki. She likes to combine the colour khaki with black, camel, and cream.
In the winter she loves layering and wearing fur jackets to keep her warm.
When it's warmer she trades her khaki skinny jeans for a khaki dress and her high heels for comfortable ballet flats. She keeps the whole look low-key and wears less accessories. But thanks to her sunglasses she looks fab as always :)

The Maxi Skirt

The maxi skirt is the best way to transition your wardrobe from winter to spring. Olivia is wearing this trans-seasonal piece a lot lately. She has them in all shapes: ankle length to show off her sandals, or a floor-sweeping version for a super elegant silhouette. To create a casual look Olivia keeps it basic on the top with a white jersey tee and a black leather jacket, or a warm turtleneck knit. For a more chic version of the maxi skirt she pairs it with a fur vest and high-heel leopard print ankle booties. To add more shape she accentuates the waist with a leather belt. Take a look at these maxi skirts in classic black, green or beige, a brighter color in baby blue or bright coral, or a printed floral one. What do you think of this maxi trend?
