Let's get right into this weekend'sfestivals, shall we? Thousands of pooches and their human partners are about to descend on the city for this year's Woofstock, a festival dedicated to our four-legged friends. Expect doggie fashion shows, talent contests and lots of vendors. Luminato kicks off Friday and includes a wide-variety of art, theatre, film and music events. New to the fest for 2011 is a series of free nighttime concerts and events at the Luminato Festival Hub at David Pecaut Square (King and John).
Also, don't miss Toronto Taste, Yonge-Lawrence Village Day, DOC Now Film Fest and Festival on Bloor.
Gleeks are in for a treat, the cast of the...
popular show Glee are in Toronto for a live stage show at the ACC Saturday and Sunday, with four shows to choose from.
Heads up! The Toronto Zoo has free admission for kids Saturday, with a product label from a Coca-Cola product, including Dasani and Powerade. The Zoo just opened its new African Penguin exhibit (with underwater viewing) in May, and it's not-to-be-missed. The penguin population is really feisty, and I had a heck of a time trying to get a photo -- they're super swimmers! I wish you better luck (send me your photos, I would love to see them). Also, the Sharks at Stingray Bay interactive exhibit is back for another season.
